You can filter images by input text at search combo box in a menu panel. For example input text is "a" then only images that has "a" in their filenames are displayed.
Changing search text causes that scroll position is reset and selection is cleared as side effects.
Search condition is cleared when you open anothor folder. And search condition is recovers when you reopen folders by using back, forword and open parent commands. If you don't want to clear condition then check "Keep search condition" menu item from search menu.
If once you search the search text is inserted into combo box lists and you can re-search by selecting dorp down lists. Search texts are inserted automatically but you can use return key to insert explicitly.
Check the 'Use regular expression' menu item by selection to use input text as reglar expression. If you check, \ . * ^ $ [ ] + ? ( ) will have special meanings. So you must use \[ for normal [ for example.
And search conditions are interpreted as not case sensitive, so "A" and "a" means same.
You can search images that filename begins "A" to use search text "^A". ^ means beginning of the string. As regular expressions are powerfull so I recommend you to study regular expressions once.
You can change search combo box width by dragging between address combo box and serch combo box.
